post What makes a good UI?

It’s a simple question… but is there a simple answer? Oh, I think not! After listening to the UI design podcast, here’s a list of the things they came up with (most of which are pretty common):

  • Self-apparent
  • Likable
  • Intuitive
  • Accessible
  • Useful
  • Consistent
  • Pretty
  • Transparent
  • Simple
  • Standardized
  • Minimalistic
  • Built on real world metaphors
  • Empowering

I’ll be posting separately on each (or at least most) of these in time. So keep hitting that F5 key. I know you’re all on your couch, donut in hand, awaiting the first one with frenzied…

…but in the meantime are there any other keys to creating good UI?
